9 Days Morocco Itinerary from Casablanca

After enjoying breakfast, we set off along the stunning coastline toward Rabat, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities and its  current capital. Here, you’ll explore iconic landmarks including the towering Hassan Tower, the beautifully crafted Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Kasbah of Oudaya. Following this cultural immersion.

You’ll have some free time to relax and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Refreshed, we continue our journey northward through Ouazzane and the scenic Rif Mountains, arriving at the enchanting Blue City of Chefchaouen famous worldwide for its striking white and blue painted buildings and winding alleyways that create a truly magical atmosphere.

After breakfast, take your time to explore the charming blue painted alleyways of Chefchaouen, soaking in its unique atmosphere. Next, we drive to the remarkably well preserved ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning mosaics, towering pillars, and grand archways. 

After exploring this captivating archaeological site, we travel a short 30 kilometers to Meknes, famed as the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. There, you’ll discover remarkable landmarks including the grand Bab Al Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the historic granary, and the esteemed Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. From Meknes, our journey continues onward to the city of Fes.

After breakfast, get ready to dive into the heart of Fes with a knowledgeable local guide. Known as one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its cultural and religious hub, Fes offers a rich tapestry of history and tradition. Your day begins at the impressive gate of the Royal Palace, followed by a drive through the historic Jewish quarter, the Mellah. Next, head to an ancient fortress that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Medina and the city beyond. 

Then, step inside the beautifully preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, through the iconic Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud. go on a walking tour with your guide to explore highlights such as the intricate Medrasa Bouanania, the charming Najjarine fountain, and the bustling Tanneries. Finally, visit the Quaraouin Mosque and University, celebrated as the oldest continuously operating university in the world, wrapping up a day full of discovery and cultural wonder.

We journey southward through Imouzzer to the enchanting town of Ifrane, often dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco for its crisp climate, snowy winters, and charming alpine-style architecture. From there, we venture into the nearby cedar forest, where lively Barbary macaques play among the towering trees take a moment to connect with these captivating creatures as you wander through this serene woodland. 

Our next stop is Midelt, where a relaxed lunch awaits before we continue along the scenic route through the Tizi n Tilghmt pass and the breathtaking Ziz Valley, pausing to soak in stunning panoramic vistas. By afternoon, we reach the vast edge of the Sahara Desert, where you’ll mount camels to cross the endless golden dunes. 

Atop a towering dune, pause to witness a spellbinding desert sunset before arriving at your extraordinary desert camp a magical fusion of traditional nomadic tents and modern luxury. As night falls, let the hypnotic rhythms of Berber drum music guide your dancing around the campfire beneath a breathtaking star-studded sky, crafting an unforgettable Sahara night experience.

We bid farewell to the desert and head towards Rissani, the historic heart of Tafilalet, which remains a vibrant trading center, especially lively on market days Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Lose yourself in the bustling souk, where a kaleidoscope of colors, fragrant aromas, and lively chatter create an unforgettable sensory experience in this traditional Moroccan marketplace. 

Next, we journey to Erfoud to visit a fascinating fossilized marble workshop, where ancient history is preserved in stone. Our drive continues through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the spectacular Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, this dramatic canyon offers breathtaking scenery and is a favorite spot for rock climbers. 

Take your time to stroll through the gorge and enjoy its natural beauty before enjoying a leisurely lunch at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, we head toward the scenic Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades, with must see stops at the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations and a panoramic viewpoint high above the valley, offering stunning vistas to capture unforgettable memories.

our journey continues to Kalaa Magouna, where we explore the enchanting Rose Valley, famous for its annual May Rose Festival here, locals proudly showcase a variety of fragrant rose products. From there, we drive through the lush palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. 

Here, you’ll visit the renowned Atlas Studios, the filming location of many iconic movies. Next, we head to the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a striking fortified village featured in blockbuster films like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and popular series such as Game of Thrones. 

After a scenic 20 minute hike to the Kasbah, we set off towards Marrakech, crossing the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N Tichka pass. Along the way, we’ll pause for lunch and stop at picturesque spots perfect for capturing memorable photos.

After breakfast, get ready to dive into the  heart of Marrakesh, the famed Red City, guided by a local expert. As one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, Marrakesh offers a rich tapestry of history and culture. You’ll explore stunning landmarks like the ornate Bahia Palace, the mysterious Saadian Tombs, and the historic Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. 

Then, lose yourself in the bustling energy of Morocco’s largest traditional souk, where colors, scents, and sounds captivate your senses. After this immersive experience, enjoy some free time to savor lunch near the lively Jemaa El Fna square, the city’s iconic gathering spot.ater on you visit the Koutoubia mosque the largest in Marrakesh, and the Majorelle garden.

On the final day of your morocco itinerary 9 days from casablabnca, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to soak up the  atmosphere of Marrakesh one last time. Afterwards, we’ll travel north to Casablanca airport to conclude your incredible 9 day adventure.
