6 Day Morocco Tour from Marrakech

After breakfast in Boumalne Dades, we'll continue our exploration of the Dades Valley's fascinating landscapes. Our journey takes us towards Tinghir, where we'll have the opportunity to visit the impressive Todra Gorges, with their towering limestone cliffs that rise dramatically on either side of the Todra River. We'll have time to walk through the gorge and admire its natural grandeur. 

We then head towards Erfoud, known for its fossils and proximity to the desert. From Erfoud, we'll make our way to the captivating Sahara Desert and the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga. Get ready for a magical camel trekking experience as we ride into the heart of the dunes to our desert camp, where you'll enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night under a breathtaking starlit sky.

Today, you'll have the chance to delve deeper into the local culture and the unique environment of the Merzouga region. After a sunrise over the dunes (an experience you won't want to miss!), we'll explore Merzouga village, interacting with locals and learning about their way of life in this desert frontier. We'll also visit Hassi Labied, another nearby village known for its traditional architecture and the surrounding desert landscapes.

 This day offers a more relaxed pace, allowing you to soak in the tranquility of the Sahara and its communities. You might have the opportunity to visit a local nomad family or enjoy some sandboarding on the dunes. We'll spend another night in or near the Merzouga area, allowing for further immersion in the desert atmosphere.

After breakfast, we'll bid farewell to the Sahara and begin our journey north towards the Imperial City of Fes. Our route takes us through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We'll pass through Midelt, known for its apple production and mineral wealth, offering a change in scenery as we ascend into the mountains. We'll continue to Azrou, a Berber town famous for its cedar forests and the Barbary macaques that inhabit them. We'll have a chance to stretch our legs and perhaps spot these playful creatures. Our journey then takes us to Ifrane, often called "Little Switzerland" due to its European-style architecture and cooler climate. We'll admire its unique charm before continuing our drive to Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco, where you are currently located and where we'll check into our accommodation for the next two nights.

Today is dedicated to exploring the fascinating city of Fes. You'll embark on a guided tour of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest and most well-preserved medieval cities in the world. You'll wander through its labyrinthine alleyways, discovering ancient mosques, vibrant souks filled with traditional crafts, and the famous tanneries.

 You'll learn about the rich history, culture, and artistry that make Fes so unique. Your guide will lead you to key landmarks and hidden gems, providing insights into the city's past and present. This is a day to truly immerse yourself in the sensory experience of Fes, from the intricate tilework to the aromatic spices.

After a final breakfast in the captivating city of Fes, we'll begin our journey towards the modern metropolis of Casablanca. As Morocco's largest city and economic hub, Casablanca offers a different perspective on Moroccan life. Upon arrival, depending on your interests and time, you might have the opportunity to visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, a magnificent architectural masterpiece situated on the Atlantic coast. 

You could also explore the vibrant Corniche area or the bustling city center before we conclude our tour, leaving you with memories of Morocco's diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
