7 Days Morocco Travel from Casablanca

Following a hearty breakfast, we begin our morocco itinerary 7 days along the breathtaking coastline to Rabat, Morocco’s  capital and a historic imperial city located in the northwest. Here, you’ll explore key highlights such as the majestic Hassan Tower, the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Kasbah of Oudaya. Enjoy some free time to savor a leisurely lunch before we continue our journey north through Ouazzane.

Soon, you’ll arrive in the enchanting Blue City of Chefchaouen, tucked away in the Rif Mountains and famed for its mesmerizing blue painted streets and alleys. The day ends with a cozy overnight stay in a local hotel, surrounded by this magical atmosphere.

Take your time to explore the charming blue painted alleyways of Chefchaouen at your own pace. Next, we journey to the remarkably preserved ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where beautiful mosaics, towering pillars, and grand archways tell stories of a distant past. 

Just 30 kilometers away lies Meknes, the Ismaili capital and another imperial city, where we’ll visit iconic landmarks such as Bab Al Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the revered Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Our day concludes as we travel onward to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

Spend a full day discovering the  heart of Fes with a knowledgeable local guide. Begin by admiring the grand Royal Palace gate before stepping into the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its intricate maze of alleyways. Enter through the iconic Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud, and explore highlights like the stunning Medrasa Bouanania, the charming Najjarine fountain, and the bustling Tanneries. 

After exploring the Medina, venture out to the historic Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah, then head to an ancient fortress offering breathtaking panoramic views over the city and Medina. Finally, return to your cozy riad, filled with unforgettable memories of Fes’s rich heritage.

After breakfast, we journey south through Imouzzer to the charming town of Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its cool climate, snowy winters, and distinctive alpine style houses. Next, we venture into the nearby cedar forest, home to playful Barbary macaques feel free to feed and interact with these curious creatures as you stroll through the trees. 

Afterward, we head to Midelt for a relaxing lunch break before continuing our drive to Merzouga, passing through the scenic Tizi n Tilghmt pass and the breathtaking Ziz Valley, stopping along the way to soak in panoramic views. In the afternoon, arrive at the edge of the Sahara Desert, where you’ll switch to camels and trek across vast golden dunes. 

Pause atop a towering sand dune to witness a magical desert sunset, then proceed to your unique camp a blend of traditional nomad tents and modern luxury. Here, enjoy an authentic evening with Berber drum music and dancing around the campfire beneath a dazzling star filled sky.

Waking up early is essential to experience the breathtaking sunrise right in the heart of the desert. After enjoying some free time for breakfast, you’ll return by camel to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting to take you onward. Next, we head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, still buzzing with life thanks to its  souk held three days a week.

Next, we explore the remarkable Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a striking fortified village featured in blockbuster films like Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as popular TV series such as Game of Thrones. 

Our adventure then takes us over the breathtaking Tizi N Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for lunch and scenic photo opportunities along the way.
